In working as an ASVAB tutor, I work to influence my students to focus on their goals today. Too many of them put off studying until the test is days away. I remind my students that it takes a while to retain so much information. When people wait until the last minute to study vocabulary, it is a serious mistake. I have read articles that say the human brain can only learn 7 new words each day. Waiting until the day before the exam to review over 500 words is senseless. Procrastination does not make any goal easier to achieve. I remind people that tomorrow’s success depends upon today’s work.
