Inspirational Quote
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an inspirational man. He was an intelligent, humble man who believed in peace and justice. He is quoted as saying, “If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way.” In life, sometimes it is the little things we do that make the difference. If we only focus on the big things, we will miss the opportunities that lie in the small things.
In teaching my ASVAB prep course, my big goal is to help people to pass the ASVAB or earn the score that qualifies them for the job they are seeking. Sometimes, I cannot lose sight of the small goals. Seeing someone master algebra or learn to properly use signed numbers, or master long division are small goals toward the bigger goal. I need to celebrate the small victories that occur on the road toward their military career. As an ASVAB tutor, I work to bring motivation and understanding to my students. In addition to providing help to their ASVAB math and reading skills, I seek to provide support and encouragement to all the students I meet. I seek to do the best I can even with the smallest of details.
