In life, there are many goals we set along the way. Bruce Lee presented the above quote which presents a new perspective on goal setting. We always feel that we must achieve all our goals. In reality, we might not fully achieve each and every goal we set. However at least our goals help us to aim in the right direction. In teaching my ASVAB prep course, I meet many students, some of which have very specific goals in joining the military. When the students I tutor for the ASVAB tell me that they have one set job (MOS) in mind, I know they need to broaden their horizons. A specific job is a goal to reach for, but in reality it might not work out as planned. There might not be an opening in that job at the right time. I remind people to be willing to accept other options. Set goals, work to achieve them, and accept the necessary changes that come along the way.
