In life, we need to see the value in ourselves. We cannot count on the world to build our self-esteem. Our self-worth depends upon ourselves. When we see the value in ourselves, others see our confidence and take note. In working as an ASVAB tutor, I do not tolerate negative self-talk in my class. When I meet people who call themselves stupid or dumb, I say that no negative self-talk is allowed. I remind them how smart they were to sign up for tutoring to address the areas they need to improve upon. No one needs to put themselves down. My goal is to build people up and to let them realize their true worth
