As an ASVAB tutor with a master’s degree in Education, I place a strong emphasis on the value of education. Joseph Addison’s quote is a powerful quote that compares sculpture of a block of marble to the effect education has on the soul. When you think about sculpting a piece, there is such potential. The possible outcomes are endless. As a sculpture progresses, the finished product finally comes into view. Education is a similar process. It is a fine tuning of our knowledge and skills in life. The process and the end product is admirable. I remind my students of the importance of education and knowledge and emphasize this in my ASVAB prep course.
