Fact or Opinion Answer
Yesterday I presented this question asking which of the four sentences about elephants was an opinion. Three of them are facts. Facts are true statements that can be backed up with evidence. Opinions are what someone believes or thinks about something. As an ASVAB tutor, I place the most emphasis on providing help to my students’ ASVAB math scores. Even though I place a strong emphasis on math, I make sure to discuss the types of questions that are presented on the Paragraph Comprehension section.
For this question, the opinion is B. Elephants are beautiful animals. This is a belief or opinion that cannot be proven.
The other three answers are facts. Elephants are the largest land animals, elephants are mammals, and elephants can weigh 200 pounds at birth. These three facts can be proven to be true.
