Yesterday I presented this question about percentages. It is a typical question that I present in my ASVAB prep course to provide help for ASVAB math. This problem could be solved by setting up a proportion. Anyone who knows how I tutor for the ASVAB knows that I love proportions. I focus so heavily on proportions in my class that people start to think every problem can be solved as a proportion! Not every problem can be solved with a proportion. This problem would be solved as a proportion with the final answer as 40%.
