Explanation of the Latin Root “Duc”
As an ASVAB tutor, I remind the students in my ASVAB prep course of the importance of focusing on Latin and Greek roots. Providing help in the area of ASVAB math is not the only place where I place an emphasis. The prefixes, root words, and suffixes are very helpful. The Latin root “duc” means to lead. A number of people might not have heard of this root. People sometimes think it might refer to “duck”, but it really means to lead. Words like conductor, abduct, and deduction are examples of the Latin root word “duc” in English words. Make sure you know your Latin or Greek roots.
