As an ASVAB tutor, I see the importance of focusing on distance and rate when providing ASVAB math help. This question involves a train traveling at 60 mph. If the trip is 540 miles long and the train leaves at 6 AM, when will it reach the destination? The first step is to divide 540 by 60 which results in 9. The trip would take 9 hours.
