PC Author’s Purpose
In working as an ASVAB tutor, I remind my ASVAB students of the importance of understanding author’s purpose in preparing for the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB. Author’s purpose is the reason that the author wrote the story. Today I present a question on author’s purpose. The question presents 4 different answer choices. Three of them are common types of author’s purpose and one is not.
Do you know which one is not a common example of author’s purpose?
Which of the following is NOT a common example of author’s purpose?
- To contradict
- To persuade
- To inform
- To entertain
I will present the answer and explanation tomorrow.
