Do you know the key phrases that are used in cause and effect questions on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB?  After years of tutoring for the ASVAB, I realize that my students need help in both math sections, vocabulary and reading comprehension. As one who tutors for the ASVAB, I remind the students in my ASVAB prep class to pay attention to the key words for cause and effect.  Examples of the words that indicate cause and effect are: for, because, since, as a result, due to, because, the effect of, as a consequence, therefore, etc.  The question from  yesterday asks which answer is not a    clue word indicating cause and effect in a    story. The word “but” is the choice that is not a  clue word indicating cause and effect.  Did you know which one was correct?
