Autor’s Tone Answer
Paragraph Comprehension is one of the 4 main parts of the ASVAB exam. As an ASVAB tutor, I see that many of my students need to review author’s tone and author’s purpose.
The two types of questions might seem similar, but they are different types of questions. Author’s tone is the attitude or viewpoint that the author holds in the written piece.
Author’s purpose is the reason the author wrote the piece. Yesterday I presented a question on Paragraph Comprehension. The topic is author’s tone.
The question is:
What is the author’s tone in a passage about his heartbreak after the death of a loved one?
- Optimistic
- Depressing
- Scary
- Angry
The author’s tone in this passage would be depressing.
The correct answer is Choice B. Depressing.
