Paragraph Comprehension Answer
The concept of author’s purpose refers to the reason the author wrote a piece. It is important to think of the main reason the piece was written. There are three main types of author’s purpose. I discuss the three types in my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension Study Guide. The three types are persuade, inform, and entertain. Persuade means trying to convince someone to do something, believe something, buy something, etc. Inform means to present facts. Entertain means to amuse someone, scare someone, capture someone’s interest.
