Author’s Purpose is a type of question that appears on the Paragraph Comprehension section of the ASVAB. The author’s purpose is the reason that the author wrote the piece. I present the topic of author’s purpose to students in my ASVAB prep course. I make sure to provide ASVAB math and reading help to my students. A number of people are uncertain of the different purposes that an author writes for. Today’s question is: what is the author’s purpose in writing about the Civil War? Do you know the answer?
