Yesterday I presented a question on the prefix hypo-. Do you know what the prefix hypo- means?
The Greek prefix hypo- means under. There are many words in the English language that include the prefix hypo-. Hypoactive means underactive. Hypothermia means having a body temperature that is below normal. Hypodermic is a needle that is inserted under the skin. Hypoglycemia is blood sugar that is below normal. Hypoallergenic is unlikely to cause an allergic reaction. Hypoxia is an oxygen deficiency.
