Patterns and sequences is one of the topics that I cover in my classes on Arithmetic Reasoning.

I have included a section on patterns and sequences in my course.  A number of students I teach do not like working with patterns, but when I review patterns with them, they realize that patterns are not as difficult as they seem.

I remind my students to pay attention to the pattern from one number to the next.  Looking at the big picture is not how to figure out the answer.  Do you know what number comes next?  I will present the answer and explanation tomorrow.
