As someone who tutors for the ASVAB, I see the importance of emphasizing Arithmetic Reasoning word problems that involve rate like this one.  I remind the students in my ASVAB prep course to be aware of the conversions that are necessary to solve problems like this one.

Knowing the different conversions involved in rate questions will help to improve a  person’s ASVAB math score.

To solve this problem, it is necessary to know that there are 60 minutes in an hour.

15 copies can be made in one minute.

Multiply 15 pages by 60 to figure out how many copies are made in 1 hour.  15 x 60 =900

Then change 3 1/2 to its decimal equivalent of 3.5 to make it easier to multiply.

Multiply 900 by 3.5

900 x 3.5 = 3150 copies
