Arithmetic Reasoning Answer on Converting Fractions to Decimals

Yesterday I presented a question on converting a fraction into a decimal.  What is 4/7 when written as a decimal?  Do you know how to convert a fraction to a decimal?  This is a common type of problem that I present in my course when I tutor people for the Arithmetic Reasoning section of the ASVAB.  This type of question is included in the subtopic of percent, fraction, and decimal conversions in my Arithmetic Reasoning classes and in my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Arithmetic Reasoning Study Guide.

To convert a fraction to a decimal, divide the denominator into the numerator and add a decimal and three digits to the numerator.

4.000 divided by 7 is 0.571.

Did you know how to solve this problem?
