Arithmetic Reasoning Question
In working as an ASVAB tutor, I review the topic of measurement with the students in my ASVAB prep course. I review both the Imperial system and the Metric system. The imperial system is the measurement system used in the United States. This system uses inches, feet, yards, miles, ounces, pounds, tons, cups, pints, quarts, gallons, etc. The metric system is used in the rest of the nations around the world. The metric system includes millimeters, centimeters, meters, kilometers, milligrams, grams, milliliters, liters, etc. It is important to know both measurement systems when preparing for the Arithmetic Reasoning section of the ASVAB.
Today I present an Arithmetic Reasoning question on measurement.
This question is about metric measurement.
The question is:
How many centimeters are there is 5 meters?
- 5 cm
- 50 cm
- 500 cm
- 5000 cm
Do you know how many centimeters are in a meter?
If you know how many centimeters are in a meter, do you know how many centimeters there are in 5 meters?
I will present the answer and explanation tomorrow.
