Yesterday I presented a question about the area of a triangle. Do you know the formula for the area of a triangle? If the base is 6 and the height is 8, what is the area of the triangle?
As an ASVAB tutor, I remind my students of the importance of knowing the formulas for geometry for the Mathematics Knowledge section of the ASVAB. I remind my students of the need to know area, circumference, volume, and surface area formulas.
The area of a triangle is A = ½ x base x height
A = ½ x 6 x 8 =
½ x 6 = 3
3 x 8 = 24
The area of the triangle is 24.
