Mathematics Knowledge

Yesterday I presented a question involving the circumference and area of a circle.  If the circumference of a circle is 10p, what is its area?

In my book, The ASVAB Tutor’s Mathematics Knowledge Study Guide, I have included formulas for geometry that are needed for the ASVAB.  I have included the formulas for area and circumference of a circle.  To be able to solve this problem, first you must know the formula for circumference.

Circumference = p x diameter

C = 10p

If the diameter is 10, the radius is 5

Area of a circle = p x radius x radius

A = p x 52

A = 25p
