Mathematics Knowledge

Yesterday I presented a question about finding the perimeter of a shape.  Do you know how many sides a hendecagon has?  Knowing how many sides a hendecagon has is a critical part in being able to figure out the perimeter of a hendecagon.

The question is: What is the perimeter of a hendecagon with each side equal to 7?

In my role as an ASVAB tutor, I remind the students in my ASVAB prep course of the importance of knowing the names of all the shapes.  This is important for the Mathematics Knowledge section of the ASVAB.  To be able to solve this problem, it is essential to know how many sides a hendecagon has and how to find the perimeter of a shape.  A hendecagon has 11 sides.  To find the perimeter of a shape, add up all the sides.  If each side equals 7 and there are 11 sides, then the perimeter is 77.

Did you know how to answer this one correctly?
