Answer to Arithmetic Reasoning Question on Tons and Ounces

Yesterday I presented a question about ounces and tons.  Do you know how many ounces are in a ton?

In order to answer this question, it is necessary to know how many ounces are in one pound and how many pounds are in one ton.  There are 16 ounces in one pound.  There are 2,000 pounds in 1 ton.  To figure out how many ounces are in one ton, multiply 16 by 2,000. The answer is 32,000 ounces in one ton.  I remind the students that I tutor for the ASVAB that knowing the conversions in measurement is an essential part in being successful in solving measurement problems.  Measurement problems are found on the Arithmetic Reasoning section of the ASVAB.
