American Legion’s Birthday
In my role as an ASVAB tutor, I mention different military holidays and anniversaries in my blog. Today is March 15, the American Legion’s Birthday. The first American Legion caucus was held in Paris in 1919. The American Legion is known as a Veteran Service Organization. They aid veterans in their community in many ways. The American Legion has several important purposes. They seek to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, to foster Americanism, to preserve memories of America’s involvement in all wars. The Legion focuses on individual’s obligation to community, state, and nation and to promote the principles of justice, freedom, and democracy.
